VIC Government launches emergency worker harm prevention campaign via The Fuel Agency

The Fuel Agency has delivered an awareness campaign to educate Victorians about the new legislation enacted to protect emergency workers from violence.

The campaign features emergency workers who have been the victims of violent behaviour and reinforces the message that this behaviour is never acceptable.

In September 2018, the Justice Legislation Miscellaneous Amendment Bill 2018 passed Parliament, making violence towards an emergency worker (including police, paramedics, doctors and nurses delivering or supporting emergency care, firefighters and prison officers) a category 1 offence under the Sentencing Act 1991.

The campaign includes radio, video and digital spots.
