Scott Deakin promoted to CD role at Blaze, Y&R’s recruitment, property and commercial agency

blaze 1.jpgScott Deakin has been named creative director of Sydney-based Blaze Advertising, the specialist recruitment, property and commercial agency of Y&R Brands.

 

Deakin started his career in the UK featuring in the prestigious New Designers Awards and infamous youth design publication Dazed & Confused. 

He spent five years as an art director at TMP Worldwide working across YELL, GCHQ (the UK version of ASIO), Eon, Lloyds tsb Bank and Hewlett Packard before transferring to its Australian operation and was quickly promoted to deputy creative director.

He joined Blaze Advertising two years ago.

 

Deakin’s portfolio includes the FEMA award-winning SA Government ‘There’s more to it than you think’ campaign; WA Corrections Prison officers recruitment campaign, Ernst & Young’s graduate and Ausgrid’s Apprenticeship campaigns; a Ri Fiver and Adelaide Advertising & Design Club awards and the recent augmented reality project for Ausgrid staged at Taronga Zoo.

 

Says Deakin: “Blaze is a unique agency with a great blend of recruitment, property and of course commercial clients. It’s a real mixed bag. I’ve had an amazing two years here and I’ve very much looking forward to what’s ahead.”

 

At Blaze he replaces David Lawson who has gone on to explore other creative opportunities but as a parting gesture recommended Deakin for the role.
