Verizon Media managing director Paul Sigaloff joins UnLtd’s board of directors
Paul Sigaloff, managing director of Verizon Media ANZ, has been appointed as a director of the board for the industry’s social purpose organisation UnLtd.
Sigaloff is a longtime supporter of UnLtd and will be commencing his role on the board from January 2021.
Says Danny Bass, chairman of UnLtd: “We’re delighted to welcome Paul to the UnLtd board. For many years now, Paul and Verizon Media have been strong supporters of UnLtd and our charity partners, and we look forward to working closer with Paul in his new role as we look to grow our industry’s impact. We have ambitious growth plans and Paul will play a key part in helping us support even more young people at risk.”
Sigaloff has over 20 years of experience in the media industry from both the UK and Australia, and is a board member of the IAB and Advertising Week APAC. With a personal passion to ‘move the world forward for good’, Sigaloff has transformed Verizon Media’s CSR program and embedded social responsibility into the company’s DNA. Over 2020 alone, Verizon Media donated over $1 million worth of time, inventory, money and resources to a number of charities including Musicians Making a Difference (MMAD), UnLtd, Red Cross Australia, Inco, Generation, Take 3 for the Sea and Ronald McDonald House.
Says Sigaloff: “Having worked with UnLtd for over a decade, I’ve seen firsthand the difference the organisation has made not only to the lives of Australia’s disadvantaged youth but also in shaping our industry for the better.
“Verizon Media has been a longtime supporter of the organisation, particularly through our work with Musicians Making A Difference, to the point where Dom and the rest of the team have become a part of our family. The work of UnLtd is not only inspirational but also effective, and I look forward to working together with my peers to combine our influence for good.”
The other UnLtd board directors are: Adam Furness, managing director APAC, Impact; Aimee Buchanan, CEO, OMD; Danny Bass, board member, MFA; David Park, founder and creative director, MAUD; Ellie Rogers, head of agency, Facebook; Karen Halligan, director – Media Value Advisory, KPMG; Kerry Field, chief growth officer, Mindshare; Kerry McCabe, founder and CEO, AthletesVoice; Rebecca Darley, general anager – business strategy and marketing, CommSec and Venessa Hunt, general manager, ThinkPremiumDigital.
Says Chris Freel, CEO, UnLtd: “Since the launch of UnLtd, our industry has generated nearly $100m in social impact value to help children and young people at risk. In the next three years, we want to double that amount, to allow us to broaden and deepen this impact. More young people than ever need our help, and our industry has the skills and power to make a massive difference. Paul is a great addition to the board, and alongside the other board directors will help the team to make 2021 our biggest year yet.”
