Vale David Woodley-Page
With great sadness, his family today announced the passing of commercial recording studio pioneer David Woodley-Page.
Due to a small but significant accident at home, Woodley-Page slipped into a coma and died peacefully in hospital on Wednesday, surrounded by his loving family. He founded the hugely successful David and John Studios in the early seventies after a recording career at EMI Studios, working with the who’s who of Australian popular music.
There is not a sound engineer in Sydney that has not either worked for Woodley-Page or been inspired by his pioneering spirit nor a voiceover artistor advertising creative that has not benefited from his kaleidoscopicexpertise.
Woodley-Page is survived by his wife Julie King and hisfirst wife Ursula Bakker and children Jen, Deb and Peter, who loved himdearly and will miss him every second of the day.
His familyinvites those who knew Woodley-Page to join family and friends at acelebratory wake in his honour on Wednesday 23rd June in the main barat the Union Hotel, Crows Nest from 6pm.

I am so saddened to hear of David’s passing. We worked with David and Ross and later John in their studios all those years ago. David was a lovely man and a joy to work with. Geoff and I would like to pass on our condolences and our love to all David’s family and friends.
David was a lovely gentleman, a nice guy in a tough industry. I had many great sessions with David and John’s over the years. R.I.P. Good man.

Very sad to hear about David,he was not only a lovely bloke but also ran one of the top sound studios in the country.We did a lot of great work at David and John’s and David was always a delight to work with.My thoughts go out to his family.

You couldn’t meet a more gentle soul than David. I did many sessions with him. He always delivered and always with grace and a lovely sense of humour. My best wishes to David’s wife and family.
I knew him from those wild days at 301 Castlereagh St to the final days at Crows Nest.
Always the same calm and softly spoken man with a hidden and wicked sense of humour and great talent.

Devo we would call him in those wonderful D&J days in the 70’s and 80’s. A soldering iron permanent in his hand busy up in his attic workroom in the old 16 eden st. Such Parties we had! …..such a lot of wonderful memories. Thanks David – it was grand! and I’m sorry I missed the Union today – I only just got the news. To you Urs and Jen Peter and Deb my heart felt sympathy and to you Julie who I haven’t met but know you’re lovely.
David survives in the most wonderful memories of everyone who knew and loved him.
