US Sydney has appointed Chad Mackenzie as creative director, who was most recently a senior creative at The Furnace, Sydney.

Mackenzie (far left), who reports to ECD Josh Moore, is a highly awarded creative with experience across both sides of the Tasman.

In a major internal promotion, Sarah Downie has been appointed Razor Group general manager and Ryan Bernal (above right) has been headhunted to the general manager role at US Sydney.

Bernal has had long stints at DraftFCB and Leo Burnett in Toronto and most recently at Whybin\TBWA\Tequila, Sydney where he worked on Visa, PlayStation, eBay and Nicabate among others.

Says Bernal: “The opportunity to work at US Sydney, a fantastic shop that is truly integrated between digital, creative and media, was just too good to pass up.

“To date US Sydney has built a great culture, client list and creative portfolio, all under many marketers’ radar. My job is to make sure they know US is behind those campaigns and it’s an agency they want at the top of their pitch list.

“With all the new work and new business in the pipeline, it’s already looking like a very big 2011.”
