uno Home Loans launches new ‘Win at Home Loans’ brand campaign via Ugly Sydney
Creative shop, Ugly, has launched its first brand campaign for uno Home Loans, the online mortgage broker that’s disrupting the Australian home loan market.
The campaign launches the brand idea, ‘Win at Home Loans’. At the heart of the campaign is an emotional film that will play out across TV, cinema and digital platforms, supported by digital and social acquisition.
Says Kirsty Davison, chief marketing and strategy officer, uno Home Loans: “Getting a home loan is one of the biggest financial decisions most people will ever make but the process has long been fraught with complexity, jargon and mountains of paperwork – making it hard for customers to know if they’re getting the best deal.
“uno is on a mission to change this by empowering consumers with the technology to see all their options, alongside seven-day advice from home loan experts. The ‘Win at Home Loans’ campaign encapsulates the feeling of beating the home loan system and the elation of winning as a result.”
Says Gary McCreadie, executive creative director, Ugly: “The home loans industry can be rigid and stubborn. Most people find the process very much in the favour of the system. We wanted to create an ad that feels the opposite of these things, simple and empowering, to align with the attitude and personality of uno’s brand. You should feel good when you get your finances sorted to buy a home. It’s a good time, right? You shouldn’t feel like you’ve been stiffed.”
This is Ugly’s first piece of work for uno having been awarded the business following a four way pitch in December.

What just happened.
How does this say simplicity / empowerment
Love Crews performance.
You can see the end gag coming from the very beginning
Why does it feel like we are being sheep doged here ” You should feel good when you get your finances sorted to buy a home. It’s a good time, right? You shouldn’t feel like you’ve been stiffed.”? Is this a consumer truth or not?
Well that sucks. Thought it was going to be something new, but could be a CBA or even worse a Bankwest or Purple Bricks ad.
This ad, does none of the things the marketing person said, or even any of the things that Uno stands for. Whatever that is.
For an online home loans company, might want to start with some decent online reviews before making a TV ad.
Kenzo says hi
She looks like she just got out of the shower, which I thought was part of the ad.
Then at the end, when we realise she’s just there for a viewing, I was wondering how she’d had a shower during the OFI.
Weird.
Are they trying to rip this ad?

It’s nicely directed and I like the risky business tribute
