Uniting encourages people thinking about foster care to take action in new TVC via WeCouldDoThat

To address the ongoing need for foster carers in regional NSW WeCouldDoThat (WCDT) has created a TV commercial for Uniting encouraging people who are thinking about becoming a foster carer to take action today.

Says Anita Le Lay, head of operations for Uniting: “Uniting Foster Care is really feeling the impacts of the chronic shortage of foster carers in Dubbo and on the Mid-North Coast – in fact, this is a problem across New South Wales and throughout the country. Our research shows that when people consider becoming a carer, they often think about how and when it will fit into their lives but what they’re not considering are the ramifications of their procrastination. Our new foster care campaign is tackling this head on by convincing potential carers that the right time is now.”

Says Rocky Ranallo, creative director, WCDT: “Foster care can make a huge difference to a child’s life. This campaign is about creating a not-so-subtle reminder for all potential foster carers that the longer they take, the longer a child waits.”

The ad will run through to Saturday 3 June on the Prime Network.
