Uber teams up with 90s pop group The Vengaboys for ‘Uber Pride Ride’ launch via Hello Social
With the help of 90s pop group the Vengaboys, Drag Queen royalty and experience agency Hello Social, last week Uber launched the ultimate inner city disco on wheels to the streets of Sydney to celebrate Pride.
The fully wrapped, retro glam-pop styled, free hop-on, hop-off bendy bus will help festival-goers navigate their way around events easily, safely and with heaps of fun en route.
Following a launch on Thursday 16th February via an exclusive ride with party bus icons the Vengaboys, the Uber Pride Ride is now available to festival goers travelling around the heart of the festival during the weekends between February 17th – March 5th.
Ideated and creatively executed by Hello Social, each Pride Ride will include an exciting line-up of on-board activities, from drag bingo and Karaoke with Jojo Zaho, Carla from Bankstown and Coco Jumbo, to educational talks from Black Rainbow, an organisation advocating for the voices of first nations LGBQTIA+SB young people.
Says Andy Morley, head of marketing at Uber ANZ: “Our mission is to help everyone move freely, safely and with pride, so we couldn’t be more excited to launch the Uber Pride Ride in collaboration with Vengaboys and our first nations LGBQTIA+SB partner Black Rainbow.
“We’re super proud to provide a platform that helps festival goers, our community and partners celebrate who they are with pride, while making travel around this once-in-a-lifetime festival easier, and a lot more fun.”
Says Sam Kelly, managing director, Hello Social: “Uber is a brand that was born at the intersection of culture and community. There is no better way to drive a progressive and inclusive narrative than by spreading colour and joy in the streets, and across social feeds around the country.”
The event plan, live GPS bus tracker and full coverage can be enjoyed on Uber Australia’s social channels.
