TRUCE and Nicholas Clifford’s ‘One More Shot’ set to launch on Stan from Sunday October 12
One More Shot, the debut feature film from Truce co-founder and director Nicholas Clifford, will be available to stream exclusively on Stan from Sunday, October 12.
The film enjoyed its World Premiere at SXSW in Austin, before sold-out screenings at the Melbourne International Film Festival, and featured in competition at CinefestOZ.
Set against the backdrop of New Year’s Eve, 1999, the film follows Minnie Vernon who stumbles upon a mysterious bottle of tequila that catapults her back in time each time she takes a sip. With her on-again-off-again flame Joeback from New York—and a new girlfriend in tow—Minnie realises she has only “one more shot” to rewrite her millennium.
One More Shot marks Clifford’s first foray into long-form storytelling, after more than a decade establishing himself in the commercial world as a performance-driven director. Known for his sharp comedic sensibility and ability to draw out authentic performances, Clifford now brings that instinct to feature filmmaking.
Clifford says: “To be able to get the chance to jump into my first long-form project was a rewarding challenge. When I set out to make this film, the goal was to create something fun, with some heart, great performances, and set to a ripper 90’s soundtrack. So to see the film being well received is great.”

The film stars Emily Browning (Sucker Punch), Aisha Dee (The Bold Type), Sean Keenan (Puberty Blues), Pallavi Sharda (The Twelve), Ashley Zukerman (Succession), Hamish Michael (Apple Cider Vinegar), Anna McGahan (Troppo), Contessa Trefone (Totally Completely Fine) and Elias Anton (Of an Age).
One More Shot was produced by Truce in partnership with GoodThing Productions, the film is written by Alice Foulcher and Gregory Erdstein and produced by Virginia Whitwell, Jim Wright, Elise Trenorden, and Nick Batzias. The project received major investment from Screen Australia, with support from VicScreen, the Melbourne International Film Festival Premiere Fund, and additional backing from Abstar Productions, Heathcote Wright, and Madman Entertainment. Worldwide sales are handled by Protagonist Pictures. Stan Executive Producers are Cailah Scobie and Alicia Brown.
