Tradie scrubs up alright in new Body Wash TVCs with the Inspired Unemployed via The Incubator
Continuing its collaboration with the Inspired Unemployed, Tradie via agency partner The Incubator, introduces its new branded Body Wash range via these two 15 second TVCs, featuring bath time with Matt and Jack.
Says Ben Goodfellow, founder, Tradie: “We had a lot of fun coming up with these spots. Basically nothing is off limits with these guys—they just kept injecting their own unique brand of humour into what were already pretty funny scenarios and the results are exactly what we were looking for.”
Matt Ford and Jack Steel of The Inspired Unemployed have been bathed in glory since bursting onto the social media scene in 2019. Flatmates in Sydney, these two besties clearly like to keep it cheeky even while they’re cleaning up their act. This bubbly duo are used to getting themselves in hot water, but it’s all good clean fun at the end of the day.
Says Kyran Docker, creative director at The Incubator: “Given all the heaviness of the world right now, it’s been great to produce some lighthearted spots that don’t take themselves too seriously and just put a smile on your face.”
The new 15 second spots will air on national TV from the 16th August.

This is a really bad idea, really badly produced.
What?
Was that an attempt at some sort of reach around gag?
Was with actual tradie mates watching these.
Serious WTF moment. None of them knew the talent. None of them had any idea why they were half nude, spraying or sniffing each other.
Completely missed the mark, alienated your core audience. A shocker.
So true. I fkn hate it
Didn’t think it was possible, but these are actually worse than the last.
And the last were terrible.
“We had a lot of fun coming up with these spots. The results are exactly the kind of homoerotic tradie yeah nah we were looking for. Now I’m off to the NRL to slap another man’s bum.”
This is a product that you could have done something decent with. Instead you chose to ‘collab’ with some really fucking unfunny influencers that no one has ever heard of and make something really really bad.
The last lot of TVC’s for this brand I thought was maybe one of the worst campaigns I had ever seen on air. These new spots are even worse.
I hate it.
is gross… doesn’t matter what context.
The footy has had enough trouble this year without being constantly subjected to this flashback to poor humour that would have been questionable in the 70s. Makes the Honey Badger look like a charismatic genius.
Electronic Stereo and a bathtub! Classic! Hahah.
What age group do these influencers appeal to again…?
Oh, their audience are mostly kids?
Oh.
Oh no.
Possibly the worst spots to ever be posted on here and that’s no mean feat.
simply terrible.
Agencies can destroy a comedy act quicker than lightning when they want to.
Seems like these ads are only appealing to young/cool people with a sense of humour. ?
What a disaster. ??♀️
NO ONE finds this humorous.. It’s just bad..
Yeah I guess young/cool people like cringe-worthy shit.
Nice observation Oh no, or should I say, Kyran Docker
The disaster is electricity + bathtubs you idiot.
And kids thinking it’s something they should do.
These ads could literally kill someone.
I think you’ve misinterpreted these guy’s fanbase. They’re not 4 year olds lol.
@oh no, the fact that you need to use two emojis to explain yourself on this thread says an awful lot about you.
I don’t get it.
I know a lot of passion and hard work goes into every spot that gets made, and as a fellow creative I truly respect that, but I really struggle to see where all that passion and effort went…
These are amazingly bad. Agree also the last ones were terrible
Love when being gay is the punchline.
….than when people that can’t write comedy, try to !
Weird doesn’t no make something comedy.
we still doing this? Im a straight man and i don’t have a fear of gayness. ffs.
When the spot makes you hate the brand and the talent, you know you’ve royally fked up.
Very dangerous at. Sends message that it’s ok to put radio in bath. We all know it will lead to electrocution. What a terrible ad
The brand name suggests it’s target audience is the working class young adult aussie men, eg tradies. However the ad content is alienating the target audience who are generally known to be rough, masculine and have a tendency to be homophobic. So I find the whole thing somewhat confusing.
