Tradie hires Inspired Unemployed to launch new Body Spray range in new TVCs via The Incubator
Building on its reputation for funny all-Australian ads, Tradie has teamed up with creative comedy duo, The Inspired Unemployed, for the TV launch of Tradie’s new Body Spray range via The Incubator.
Tradie’s series of 15 second Body Spray TVCs show the best mates deeply enjoying each other’s scent in a locker room.
Says Ben Goodfellow, founder, Tradie: “Having these two front our new Tradie Body Spray is perfect, They’re such naturals; within 5 minutes the scripts were out the window. I’ve always said our brand ambassadors should be people any Aussie would want to have a beer with, and I certainly want to have a beer with these guys!”
Rising stars of The Inspired Unemployed, 25 year olds Matt Ford and Jack Steel are besties from Sydney, with a passion for surfing, snowboarding and generally goofing around. Their scruffy good looks and self-deprecating humour have seen them grow an impressive following of more than 435k on Tik Tok and 370k on Instagram in the past 18 months. Thanks to their unique style of whacky physical humour, collaborations with brands such as Fendi, GQ and the Aria Awards have seen the boys become hotly pursued talent, who are these days far from unemployed.
“Working on this project with Tradie turned out to be one of the better collaborations we have done so far” the pair said of the shoot. “The guys gave us a tonne of freedom and let us push the boundaries a lot with ideas and acting, which we find creates a much more authentic result and is how we normally like to work. It definitely helped that everyone on set were bloody legends to work with too, which always makes for a better result.”
Kyran Docker, creative director at The Incubator was quick to sing their praises too: “Funny is in their DNA. We barely needed to give them any direction, they just instantly got what we were trying to do and ran with it.”
The new 15 second spots will air on national TV from this weekend.

So it’s ok to intentionally inhale aerosols?
Well that feels miles off brand and awkward to watch. Was that what you were going for?
Isn’t that the point of them? Looking at them doesn’t do much.
These boys are like the the next Celeste Barber. After Klarna and Tradie you’ll be seeing them everywhere.
Two ads are the same and the third makes no sense.
This influencer trend must go away.
Take me back to the Cadbury Gorilla days where brands cared about craft and creativity.
This is low budget desperation.
I suspect you’re an ad person, and not a tradie?
I know these guys have a big following in that community/demographic. Hate to say it, but an ad doesn’t always have to have “craft and creativity” to work.
These guys aren’t trying to win Cannes Lions. They’re trying to sell body spray, and I reckon this will help.
“They’re such naturals; within 5 minutes the scripts were out the window.”
Yeah no shit. this is the worst pile I’ve seen in a long time.
Because they stink.
They think they’re funny, but they’re not. Did they make these up while the camera rolled?
These adds are just not right, I find them quite sickening! Hope they get these adds off the air! Tradies sniffing each other?
By the looks of it so far, their target audience and the IU fans are lapping these up. Guess that’s the point. ?
Really hard to watch. I wouldn’t use this product because of these two.
Agree, wouldn’t buy it on principle because the ads are so lame and annoying.
Not funny
Actually embarrassing
Would never EVER buy these products
Yuk. Seriously gross. We watched this during the footy with people in the room ranging from 8 to 70 and all thought the add was embarrassingly bad. When it comes on now we mute it and look away.
I agree with ‘all of us at work’. The ad just makes me squirm, and not even funny (one the guys just looks incredibly sleazy). I would definitely not buy these products (or encourage others to do the same) after seeing these ads.
I think this ad should be taken off air, kids stop to watch it, (I won’t allow my grand chidlren) the connecting with sex is quite disgusting and i feel its an adult ad

Really? Brand it ‘Tradie’, wow! Great sales pitch! – if you are trying to dissuade Tradies from buying it!
Disgusting
Would never buy these for the males in my family
Sickening ad! Is this what tradies get up to in their spare time or when they don’t show up,to a job? I won’t be buying this product, it’s like the HJ ad when they are moaning about their burgers. Nothing funny, sexy or appealing about the ad or product..
I hate this add and would never buy this product, blokes sniffing each other ! I turn it off/ change the channel every time it comes on
This is so wrong, how many times to you see on aerosol cans Do Not Deliberately sniff this product, and here you are promoting it ?get it off the air now ? and no my name is not Karen
Worse ad ever, so awkward to watch for most guys I’d say. What were they thinking? This ad would not make me buy this body spray at all. Remake the ad people if you want guys to buy this product.
turn this ad off every time and would never buy the product because of it. Just awkward and gross. Might appeal to a certain type of bogan but not most of the population.
This is an absolutely disgusting, revolting ad. Do you really think the bulk of the australian population would appreciate this ad. At least I
consider we do have a brain. This ad obvious come from people witha woke brain.
How times have changed, if and ad like this portraying Tradies would have aired in the 80s there would have been many a television screen kicked in. Ridiculous hovering on creepy!!
