Tim Addington trades B&T editorship for communications director role at The Works
Following a period of sustained growth, Sydney-based independent The Works has appointed B&T associate publisher and editor Tim Addington as communications director.
Addington, who will start in the newly created role next month, will manage internal and external communications and assist in new business development as the agency looks to capitalize on recent new business wins including the Woolworth’s Everyday Rewards account.
Says Damian Pincus, co-founder and creative partner at The Works: “The agency is on a roll at the moment and we are keen to build on our offer going forward. Having Tim onboard will help the momentum of the business to continue and ensure we are effectively communicating the message about the agency and our client’s work to the wider market.”
Says Addington: “I’ve been watching the growth of The Works with interest for some time now, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and helping them realize their ambition to take the agency to the next level. I was attracted by the model of creative thinkers leading client business which is a refreshing point of difference at a time when marketers are increasingly demanding more from their creative partners.”
Addington has been at B&T for more than five years, four of them as editor. During that time he helped establish the B&T Awards as the most robust and rigorous agency of the year awards in the industry. He also launched the highly successful 30 Under 30 Awards which this year was turned into an event and has increased the title’s online presence with new product launches and innovations. Prior to joining B&T he was launch news editor and then editor of advertising magazine Campaign Middle East based in Dubai and worked for a variety of British national newspapers before that.
The Works clients and brands include Woolworth’s Everyday Rewards, Jim Beam, Canadian Club, Skoda, Virgin Money, Daikin, Fetch TV and Brother.
