Three Drunk Monkeys in Logie contention for :30 Seconds and My Family Feast

Justin, Scott, Mark July09-WEB.jpgThree Drunk Monkeys, Sydney has two nominations at this year’s Logies – My Family Feast is up for Most Popular Lifestyle Program and :30 Seconds is nominated for Most Popular Light Entertainment Program.

My Family Feast is a television series that looks at the lives andcooking traditions of Australian immigrants and their families, as seenthrough the eyes of host and award-winning chef Sean Connolly. ThreeDrunk Monkeys managing director Mark Green (pictured above right) and executive creativedirector Justin Drape (above left) are executive producers on the program, and Drapewas one of three writers along with directors Giovanni Pacialeo andBenjamin Gilmour.

The popular cooking program celebrating food, family and the stories oflife was a collaboration between Three Drunk Monkeys, HopscotchProductions and television and film production company Benchmark Films.It aired on SBS in 2009.

Part cultural profile and part cooking show, in each episodeAustralians with diverse ethnic backgrounds invite Sean into theirhomes, introduce him to their families, share cultural traditions andteach both Sean and the audience how to cook a family feast withrecipes and techniques that have been lovingly passed from generationto generation.

:30 Seconds is nominated for Most Popular Light EntertainmentProgram. Produced by Andrew Denton’s production company, Zapruder’sOther Films, :30 Seconds is a six-part half-hour satirical drama serieswhich aired on FOXTEL in 2009. The series – written by Prodigy Filmsdirector Tim Bullock and Three Drunk Monkeys creative directors JustinDrape and Scott Nowell (pictured above – centre) – is set in a fictional multinational agencycalled BND Worldwide. It follows BND’s brilliant but troubled creativedirector Martin Manning (Joel Tobeck, The Lord of the Rings: The Returnof the King) and his staff as they go about their working lives underthe banner: “BND. Truth Well Sold.” :30 Seconds also stars PeterO’Brien (White Collar Blue, The Bill), Stephen Curry (The Castle, TheKing), Gyton Grantley (Underbelly) and Kath Bullock (Underbelly).
