Earlier this year, Exit’s Mark Molloy earned a DGA Award nomination in the Commercials category for Apple’s The Underdogs. The Underdogs are back, but now they’re working from home during the pandemic quarantine, making their latest job all the more challenging. The Underdogs are navigating the new normal.
Directed by Mark Molloy and photographed by award-winning cinematographer Greig Fraser, the production team devised a hybrid approach of shooting remotely and shooting with a skeleton crew adhering to covid guidelines. The obstacles the team overcame producing the film echoed the logistical challenges faced by the characters in the story, resulting in a short film that feels dynamic, inventive and uniquely of the moment, mirroring our own realities.
Today the 7 minute film reached more than 10 million hits on Youtube.
