‘The Power of the Suit’ – a new campaign for Hallenstein Bros via Publicis Mojo Auckland
Hallensteins demonstrates the power of the suit in the latest ‘Brothers’ campaign by Publicis Mojo New Zealand.
To launch the campaign a national poll was conducted which found 83% of NZ woman love a guy in a suit.
The short film follows a group of guys on a night out, sharply dressed in Hallenstein Bros suits. Set to a punked up version of ‘Girls just want to have fun’, the brothers discover girls definitely love a man in a suit. The film launches the Hallenstein Brothers 2012 suit range.

Killin’ it.
Hmmmm … too cynical in execution. The previous Hallenstein Bros “Brothers” advert was beautifully filmed and scripted – nice touch of humour at the end too with one of the mates ogling the hot sister – but this one makes the ladies seem like demonic carnivores. Lashings of lascivious ladies (yeah, yeah, nice alliteration) is just too unrealistic. There has to be a core of truth in the story telling for it to be effective and I found it hard to believe that even good looking lads would be mauled in that manner just because they were wearing a Reservoir Dogs suit.
Love it. Like Denis Piel in the day.
I’m off to kelly country to get me a suit.
Get a life (and a suit) will ya?
Chicks dig guys in slick suits. No shit.
Never mind where’s the twist. Where’s the idea?
Now that made me regret not wearing a suit to AWARD tonight.
never mind an idea when there’s side boob
I would definitely do me.
Hot girl on bonnet of a car.
Hot girl on lap of a guy (with a suit).
Seems like the same, tired, old advertising formula to me.
The idea is that a suit help a man pull, taken to extreme of course here but its fun to watch….
It’s the death of a spot whenever a commenter:
1. Explains the idea of the spot
2. Alludes to it being ” a bit of fun” or other derivations of.
Hey, Charlie, who was Penis Diel?
Girls gagging for it from a guy.
Funny when done AXE style.
Not so, when there’s no wit t it.
Waste of money!
The pool thing happened to me once but the fucking Viagra in the pocket dissolved before I could take it.
I am amazed that an ad with so much eye-candy in it can still be so dull.
not much going on here. unbelievable, but fucking looks good. but then again, so does youporn, and there’s no suits to be seen there.
if this makes young blokes think they’ve got a chance with a suit, then good on it. job done. then again, if the suit doesn’t contain wads of cash in the pockets then i know this ad is bullshit.
Hey Rev Spooner, Denis Piel was a fantastically talented Australian director from the 80’s and 90’s who specialized on finding the truth in a natural sexy moment that just made you feel all warm and fuzzy. He wouldn’t cut stuff as fast as this, it more dwelled on the emotion in a scene. He started his career as a fashion photographer and was massive in new York doing covers for vogue etc photographing everyone from Farrah Fawcett to Christie Turlington. He was born in Brisbane. Just another great Aussie export.
Are you guys for real?
Talk about stretching the willing suspension of disbelief a tad too far!
Especially when every bloke knows that if you want to pull a hot chick under twenty these days, all you need is a car, your own place and a credit card.
So will it make a gullible 16-year old school boy want one? Probably.
Will it make his Mum and Dad cough up the couple of hundred bucks a whistle and flute like this will cost?
No chance and Buckley’s.
What was the ad a few years ago “the power of the suit” or something. the faceless guy ends up rooting the chick on the boardroom table during a meeting….
