Should you not have awards to judge awards?

Ayooooo go Dan
It would be insulting to have your work judged by part of this jury.
I see – no awards needed if you’re a straight white male.
With Mandie as a judge – Integrated/Experiential/Immersive is going to have some killer work winning.
Well done Staudy & congrats on being made CD at Eardrum. That’s huge!
Many of these people have won multiple awards over the course of their careers at multiple agencies which is why they have the jobs they do.
Not seeing it. Working on one award winning campaign as a part of a team once, that went on to win at many shows that one year, should not mean you can judge others work. Looks good on a website though doesn’t it.
Do you honestly believe that ECDs and CCOs from some of the biggest agencies in the country aren’t qualified to judge work? You were the first comment on here and you used that to have a swipe. You sound bitter and jaded.
I don’t dispute the ECDS on here, they have awards, have run agencies and should be a judge, but there are two that have not one a single thing or lead agencies or large campaigns – so my question is should those without awards or experience be able to judge award shows?
I believe the answer should be no.
C’mon, you surely reach a level when you don’t include finalists.
Onya Staudinger!
Congrats Dan! Nice work
The Aussie industry is serioulsy farrked….What is wrong with you people? Always turning positive things for others into negative. Who cares if they don’t have awards….theyve been selected to judge, thats it.
Plus most awards, are based on fictitious clients, and BS. Awards should be reserved for campaigns that either have a positive affect on peoples lives, or the planet, or save some of the animals on it. Not for successfully selling a Mars Bar to a kid, or beer, or fast food, or things that actaully cause illness.
I’ll make a suggestion to Lynchy. Take off the comments section for good, and make Australian Advertising a fun place to be again.
We’re in advertising, we’re not saving lives. Chill TFO!
If you saw the portfolio you’d retract this
