The Defence Bank Foundation unveils new content for its Defence Community Dogs program for National PTSD Day via Chatter Brand Experience
National PTSD Awareness Day sees the latest instalment of a series of powerful videos by the Defence Bank Foundation on its Defence Community Dogs program via Chatter Brand Experience.
The Defence Community Dog program provides highly trained Assistance Dogs to serving and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who need support to deal with injuries and illnesses including Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The video details the impact the program has on veterans with Assistance Dogs often proving to be a saving grace for these men and women as they navigate everyday life and key days such as Anzac Day.
The program involves rescue dogs trained by inmates at correctional facilities as part of their rehabilitation. A graduation ceremony is held for dogs and they are handed over from the trainers to the veterans.
The Defence Bank Foundation has been working with Chatter Brand Experience and Christiaan Blok over the past 18 months to release content detailing the program and what they describe as a “unique win, win, win program which gives dogs, inmates and veterans a second chance at life.”
The footage is available online at the Defence Community Dogs Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1066802120372568.
The program is ongoing with full support from Defence Bank. Donations can be made at: https://www.defencebankfoundation.com.au/defencecommunitydogs/.
