The Creative Relay launches latest ep with Gavin McLeod: “It’s the best time ever to be a creative”

The Creative Relay returns with a message of positivity from Gavin McLeod, ECD Ogilvy Sydney: “It’s the best time ever to be a creative”.

 

In the latest episode of the popular industry series, McLeod talks about the importance of ideas, the emerging agency models, and what it all means for the future of creative professionals.

Says McLeod: “If you look at the opportunities and paths that have opened up, it’s the best time ever to be a creative, because suddenly there’s all these options we haven’t had before.”

Drawing upon his 20 years’ experience at agencies including M&C Saatchi, R/GA and AKQA, McLeod reflects on the people who have helped steer his career, along with the expertise and advice they have shared.

Continuing his positive outlook, he talks glowingly of the new generation of “T-shaped” creatives with a breadth and depth of skills and a more collegiate approach.

Says McLeod: “When I started, there was a much more competitive environment. Now creatives are inherently more collaborative and they’re really supportive of each other.”
