AMGA aims to raise the standards of commercial creativity in Australia through the promotion and recognition of the value of account management, focusing on education, inspiration and creativity. AMGA will celebrate the art of successful account management, acknowledging and celebrating it across the advertising industry.

At this first stage, AMGA is calling on Victorian Communications Council agency member heads to nominate their rising stars in account management for membership.

Says McEwan: “It’s great to be a part of an initiative that really celebrates and inspires improvement in the skills of account management to better understand the business challenges faced by our clients. We have a shared ambition to create great work that works.

“As well as Managing Directors, we invite creative directors to endorse their account management stars for AMGA membership.”

Says Margaret Zabel, CEO of the Communications Council: “Under the Comms Council umbrella, AWARD is a community for creatives, while the Account Planning Group brings together planners. We are delighted there now is a galvanising of the account management community with this initiative. AMGA will be focused on leveraging the industry’s collective expertise to encourage learning, with the intention of increasing the standing and output of the discipline. We look forward to identifying where we can provide account management professionals the most value.”

AMGA is looking to further recognise betterment in account management by recognising excellence across different tiers, as well by hosting ongoing events with key opinion leaders.
