The Butchery now open in Sydney
The Butchery, the creative editorial studio, has opened a Sydney office in the Woolloomooloo area, with both local and interstate talent.
As a result of a long standing collaboration, Brisbane firm Alt.vfx will share the new facility with The Butchery, and together will offer premium editorial, colour grading and visual effects under one roof.
The Butchery has worked consistently with clients in Sydney over several years, and opening in Woolloomooloo will allow its editors to work more seamlessly between cities.
New recruit Mat Evans will compliment The Butchery’s current editorial roster, which also includes Rohan Zerna, Johanna Scott, Mike Lutman, Tim Parrington, Graeme Pereira and Jack Hutchings.
In other Butchery news, Jack has just completed a feature film with Ewan McGregor directed by Julius Avery, commercials for Garth Davis (via Leo Burnett Sydney) and Steve Rogers for Nissan via Whybin TBWA Melbourne. Graeme has been busy working on TAC with Mike Daly, and Navy for The Sweetshop’s Joel Harmsworth via GPY&R Melbourne. Johanna teamed up with Justin Kurzel on NRMA through Whybin TBWA Sydney, and Tony Rogers for McCains via Whybin TBWA Melbourne. Mike Lutman has edited with Justin Kurzel, on his chapter of the feature film – Tim Winton’s “The Turning”, as well as Crown Lager with US director Keith Ehrlich, for Revolver and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne. Rohan’s been working with Christopher Riggert on Bulleit Whiskey via Leo Burnett Sydney, and Mark Molloy on a stop motion spot for Lindeman’s through DDB Melbourne. Tim Parrington’s been busy with the Will O’Rourke guys cutting the recent NAB Footify spots via Clemenger Melbourne. He’s also just completed spots for Westpac with Adam Stevens from Robbers Dog via DDB Melbourne. Both Parrington and Stevens are now set to take on Butchery Sydney’s very first project, working with Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney.
The Butchery was launched in Melbourne in 2007. The Butchery’s editors have contributed to some of the region’s most high-profile commercial, music video, and feature film projects. Along the way it has earned awards for it’s editing for commercials both in creative and effectiveness; from Cannes, The Clio’s, AWARD, the AFI’s and the D&AD’s amongst others.
This new home in Sydney will allow The Butchery’s clients and staff more flexibility in working across Melbourne and Sydney, and full service post options in Sydney in collaboration with Alt.vfx
