The Brand wins CB’s WA Agency of the Year
More than 760 people were at the Oasis Ball in Perth last Friday night to seeThe Brand Agency win its fourth Campaign Brief Western AustralianAgency of the Year title since the award was first presented in 1987.
Alwaysa strong contender on business criteria, The Brand lifted its gamecreatively in 2008 with great results at AWARD and the PADC plus Bestof Year for Television at these Campaign Brief Awards. An excellentall-round performance saw it just edge out 303, Gatecrasher,Marketforce, Rare Creative Thinking and Meerkats in the closest evercontest for Agency of the Year. Seven time winners, Marketforce had wonthe award for the past two years.
303 also had a great night, dominating the creative awards – winning Best of Year for RadioAdvertisement, Television Campaign and Out of Home. Its ‘Love where youlive’ campaign for IKEA also won Campaign of The Year.
However, theagency’s loss of the blue-chip IKEA and HBF accounts weighed heavilyagainst it when it came to deciding the Agency of the Year. 303 havewon the award six times previously, the last time in 2005.
IKEAeasily won Advertiser of the Year for the second year in succession, the first single brand to do so in that award’s nineteen year history.IKEA’s launch of the new big store in Perth was hugely successful andwork created on the account has dominated local award shows and pickedup a Bronze Pencil for TV at AWARD.
The Ball was another spectacularevent and hugely successful for the Oasis Project’s charity, TheSalvation Army’s Crossroads West youth programme. Although the finalfigure is still to be tallied, the organisers were confident thisyear’s donation will be well in excess of $160,000 – a record.
