Says AANA CEO Scott McClellan: “Mr. Buckman is widely considered one of the most powerful marketers in the country, so it will be fascinating to hear from him about his vision for Telstra’s marketing in 2012 and beyond.”

The invitation-only event, now in its third year, assembles the 100 most senior marketing executives in Australia. The Hon Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband and the Digital Economy was a past keynote.

The theme for the AANA Congress 2012 is ‘Marketing Over the Horizon’.

McClellan added: “Marketing executives are often accused of short-term planning, sometimes as little as 3-6 months.  That is why we have deliberately themed this year’s Congress ‘Over the Horizon’. Participants will be asked to cast their minds forward to the next 12 to 18 months. The ‘hothouse’ format will surely produce an interesting response from this group of talented marketers.”

The Congress is AANA’s most important annual gathering of marketing industry leaders. All participants are asked to engage in structured round-table discussions of the industry’s most challenging issues and opportunities. The format enables each participant to put forward their thinking on topics that matter to them, whether it concerns the threat of regulation, the changing media landscape, or maximising effectiveness and accountability of adspend. The outcomes from these exchanges help guide the AANA Board in developing industry policy and managing key issues.
