Telstra is launching its Christmas campaign today with a new spot created by The Monkeys and directed by Revolver’s Stephen Carroll.
Says a Telstra spokesperson: “The creative reflects the tone, poetic language and visual style of our earlier work. Many of the young, Australian artists and actors we unveiled a few months back are used again to continue the story and some of whom are related in real life.”

Manifesto manifesto manifesto manifesto manifesto.
They just don’t work.
It’s a great execution though- shame it won’t stick.
What is that supposed to mean? Something something wide shot of a forest.
Worst VO ever. Who is that talent? Fire her and the copywriter.
Feel the flow? Well this has none.
A phone? Pricy gift.
Unless “give the gift of connection” means a pre-paid card? Bit tacky though.
Or does Telstra sell phone chargers?
Or do you mean metaphorically? Like helping people speak? Wait, is this a charity?
I’m so confused.
Give me the gift of comprehension.
Edukate.
The (Three Drunk) Monkeys go mainstream.
Congratulations guys, you’ve arrived.
Instead of socks and underwear this year I’m giving dad a Mobile data bundle. Nothing says Christmas more than that
LOL @ the concept. Even the line ‘Give the gift of connection’ seems to have been pooped out of a marketing guy’s gerbil.
But the execution is lovely. Really nicely shot.
