TBWA\NZ would like to announce no changes to its leadership in playful ad in the NZ Herald
Following a number of advertising agency shake ups in the last few weeks TBWANew Zealand has launched a playful campaign in the New Zealand Herald.
The ad states: “As The Disruptive Company we would like to announce no changes to our current leadership team.
“The advertising industry is going though major disruption at the top. And although we believe that disruption gives our clients’ businesses an unfair advantage, we’d like everyone to know that when it comes to people, it’s about stability. So you can still call Catherine Harris (CEO) or Shane Bradnick (CCO) on their usual numbers. Whenever you like.”
Says Catherine Harris, CEO, TBWANZ: “At TBWANZ we are incredibly proud of the brilliant team of talent we have attracted to work with us on some of the biggest and best brands in New Zealand. We have done this with a very committed and ever growing team of top talent.
“With all the changes in leadership in the industry right now, speculation of change just isn’t part of the TBWA narrative. We wanted our people and our partners to know that the team we have built is as committed as ever. So what better way to do that than with an ad.
“While we are The Disruption Company, sometimes the most disruptive thing to do is to stay committed to your vision, your path, your people and your partners. Plus it feels like everyone needed a bit of fun.”

Being pretty good is a safe place to be less churn as you’re not coveted and you’re not poached You’re safe
Nice that they think absolutely anybody else inside or particularly outside of the industry cares about this
Yes!
A fun jab at the revolving door
Feels a bit like a dig at Damon. I know that’s not the case as it’s more directed at DDB, but still you can’t help but feel that nasty edge to it. Might just be me, but feels very unkiwi like.
Ha. Change isn’t part of the TBWA narrative.
Tell that to all the people they have let go due to change over the years.
It’s a shame TBWA had a less than appreciated legacy after Devo. All it takes is new brooms who don’t know the industry or don’t know people and everything is thrown under the bus.
What’s so playful and fun about this? Personally it’s very weird.
This feels a bit off. That agency is much more than the two people who have moved on. Bit of fun…I think not!! Nasty and a bit jealous more like it. Be careful TBWA as history tells us karma is never far from our own door in this industry!!
After the news that agency had in this part of the world about ANZ surely they’d think twice about the “no change here” message. Hope they win NAB because if not they might find themselves in the paper again but with someone else writing the headlines.
Support the industry don’t wrecking ball it.
“Support the industry don’t wrecking ball it”
Really? Do you read the comments on these blogs, (yours included)? Very rarely supportive.
It’s on tone.
And the industry’s in chaos.
I’d work there.
The ad industry talking to itself. Like anyone else knows or cares.
Can’t wait for this to resurface when the inevitable happens in a year or so…
Do you really think NAB are going to hire ANZ’s reject agency?
I’ll believe that when I see it.
Meanwhile Wortho has been at Colenso how long now?
Remains with TBwA in New Zealand
Won’t have cost much, the NZ media beyond our insular industry have been talking about all the changes, and then they covered this. If one CMO or CEO calls them for the small outlay then thats sort of how advertising is supposed to work right? Good on them for having a bit of fun and trying a different way to get in front of people.
Noticed TBWA NZ have deleted all their social posts about this. Awkward…
With work like this its no wonder they lost ANZ
With work like this it’s no wonder the Monkeys went after Mowday & Stapleton.
A true disruption agency would’ve hired influencers to make this a tiktok challenge, not a print ad. #pissweak #disruptyoself
I hope TBWA have secured Catherine and Shane by giving them a massive financial incentive to stay put …because if they leave now, TBWA are going to have egg on their face.
This type of thing never ends well. It doesn’t pay to be smug.
Here are some examples of disruptive behavior: Farting on public transport, micro-dosing at a funeral, voting for the Australian Sex Party. But this? This is about as disruptive as a tub of low fat hummus.
Congrats Wot! You have won comment of the year my friend. You had me at ‘low fat hummus’.
Dumb and stupid.
tbwa sydney could write this – the agency famous for firing people, like, all the time
