Talbot snares DDB’s Lisa Fedyszyn and Jonathan McMahon for joint CD role at Whybin\TBWA
CB hears that Whybin\TBWA Auckland’s new chief creative officer Toby Talbot has snared hot creative team Lisa Fedyszyn and Jonathan McMahon out of his former agency DDB New Zealand, offering them joint CD roles.
In April 2010,Talbot, then ECD at DDB, hired the pair from Colenso BBDO, Auckland, where that had been a star team for three and a half years. The team, ranked #1 in the world on Bestads over the last decade, has been recognised extensively in NewZealand and overseas at D&AD, Cannes, Clio, LondonInternational Awards, The One Show and Young Guns.
At time of writing, Talbot could not be contacted.

Congratulations – great news guys!
I’m available for the PR shot.
They might be a good team, but are they CDs? I guess he needed the title to get them over.
HOT!
congrats lisa, jono and the cat
Good point, 5:28. They’re an excellent team, I’d vouch for that having been their boss for a short time. But CDs? That’s a totally different skill. Often if you’re good at one, you’re not very good at the other. I was a classic example.
The most awards focused creative team end up working for Talbot. Who would have thought?
Well done guys – talented and nice peeps. Their experience with Award School will stand them in good stead as CDs. Remember a CD nowadays is basically just a senior creative with a few more responsibilities – different again to an ECD, which I agree is a very different job to simply being a great creative.
“Their experience with Award School will stand them in good stead as CDs” is the dumbest comment I have ever read here.
Coming in a close second is “a CD nowadays is basically just a senior creative with a few more responsibilities ”
@Twinkle: Please leave the comments to the grown ups.
You know, if I saw these guys around I would recognise Lisa, but unless Jonathan had a cat on his shoulder, not a chance.
To Melbourne Creative: Didn’t your mum taught you that if you didn’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all? I have something nice to say, so here I go: Jonathan and Lisa are a very talented creative duo, they’ve been working their asses off for more than a decade in some of the best shops in Australia and NZ and have more than a reasonable amount of metal to prove that they’ve haven’t been wasting their time. I reckon they will be awesome in their new role and it is a very well deserved opportunity for them. Congratulations Jonathan and Lisa and upwards and onwards.
Is Old CD Guy in fact Monty?
Deservedly yours x
