Sydney-based agency The Hallway appointed to Knauf business following five way pitch
Sydney-based creative agency The Hallway has been appointed by plasterboard company Knauf as agency of record across all communications channels after a pitch involving four other agencies.
The Hallway was appointed after demonstrating a comprehensive communications architecture for the Knauf brand across all its products and customer touch points. The forthcoming multi-media communications from The Hallway will have a major business to business focus.
Knauf is a German-based private company founded in the 1930s. It has global revenues of AUS$7.4 billion, 23,000 employees across 40 countries. In August this year, Knauf bought Lafarge’s plasterboard business in Australia, with all Lafarge Australia products to be rebranded under the Knauf name.
Says The Hallway managing partner Jules Hall (pictured): “This is a major rebrand for the company and is a complex assignment with ongoing communications needs. It is across all media and is expansive in terms of reaching all touch-points for the Knauf business which now has an enlarged footprint in Australia after the Lafarge purchase.”
Knauf general manager, marketing and strategy, Margaret O’Neill said The Hallway was the standout winner in the competitive review.
Says O’Neill: “The Hallway demonstrated a clear communications architecture for our business in Australia which clearly defines how the Knauf brand will continue to expand. We were attracted to The Hallway because of its leading creative reputation in Australia and we are looking forward to a successful partnership.”

Nice work guys
Knauf. Awesome man that is amazing news, thanks for the insight on your business successes of late. Don’t mean to be rude though I think you spelt Naff wrong. Unless Knauf is some place that the bulk of us couldn’t give two quick tosses about.
