Swisse supports free period products for women across Melbourne gyms and studios

Swisse Wellness announces its latest partnership with New Zealand social enterprise Ads on Pads to provide 17,000 free period products across Melbourne gyms and studios, helping remove a simple but often overlooked barrier for women wanting to stay active.

The partnership marks Ads on Pads’ first advertiser-funded brand activation in Australia and builds on a model that has already distributed more than 325,000 free period products across Australia and New Zealand, with 10 percent of profits from the campaign donated to charity Share the Dignity.

The focus on gyms and studios follows learnings from Ads on Pads’ work with brand partners in New Zealand, which highlighted the impact periods can have on women and girls’ ability to comfortably participate in sport and exercise. By making free products readily available in the places women move and train, the partnership aims to remove one practical barrier to staying active.

“Getting your period unexpectedly shouldn’t mean abandoning your plans. Gyms and studios are places women move through every day, so having products there when they’re needed can make a real difference,” says Ads on Pads Founder and CEO Aditi Gorasia (pictured).

“Our experience in New Zealand has shown us how something as simple as access can help women feel more supported to keep moving. We’re excited to partner with Swisse to bring that model to more women in Melbourne” said Gorasia.

Swisse Wellness recently launched its HYSTERIA platform to shine a light on women’s health and encourage greater conversation, advocacy, research and funding. The Ads on Pads partnership brings that commitment into an everyday setting, providing practical support in the moments when women really need it.

Ads on Pads provides sustainable period products free of charge, with advertiser investment funding the products and using the packaging and dispensers as a media channel.

“Partnering with Ads on Pads is a natural extension of our commitment to women’s health,” said Stephanie Taylor, Swisse Wellness Marketing Director ANZ.

“For Swisse, it’s about turning our commitment into practical support and helping to ensure women can access pads when they need, during times of movement and self-care. We’re proud to partner with an innovative media platform and social enterprise, that supports women through their donation to Share the Dignity”.

The rollout will span Pilates Republic locations in Brunswick, Collingwood, Fairfield, Ivanhoe, Kingsbury and Preston; Kaya Health Clubs in Melbourne CBD, Chadstone and Prahran; and Prime Athletica in Fitzroy, Thornbury and Ivanhoe.

Alongside the 17,000 free products being distributed through participating Melbourne gyms and studios, 10 percent of profits from the campaign will be donated to Share the Dignity – an Australian charity providing period products to women and anyone menstruating who is homeless, fleeing violence, or doing it tough.

The Melbourne partnership represents the next stage of Ads on Pads’ growth in Australia, with further expansion planned for 2027 and beyond.
