Suncorp and Leo launch ‘Haven’ to help home owners boost resilience against extreme weather
Suncorp has launched Haven, a new digital platform created in partnership with Leo Australia, designed to help Australians understand their home’s vulnerability to extreme weather and take action to protect it.
Leveraging property, location, weather and natural peril risk data, Haven enables any homeowner across Australia to enter their address and receive a tailored dynamic video and downloadable report that highlights their property’s specific risks—be it flood, bushfire, cyclone or storm—and how to build resilience against them.
The platform arrives as new Suncorp data reveals that more than 2.7 million homes across the country are at high risk from at least one extreme weather peril. Among them, 1.3 million homes are exposed to bushfires, over 1.5 million to severe storms, nearly 40,000 to floods, and almost 38,000 to cyclones.

Says Lisa Harrison, Suncorp’s Chief Executive Consumer Insurance: “As extreme weather becomes more frequent and severe, we’re using our 100 years of experience, alongside the latest technology and data, to help all Australians make their homes more resilient.
“With Haven, we’re giving homeowners personalised insights and practical steps they can take to reduce risk and improve safety. It’s ultimately about improving resilience and reducing property damage across the country.”

Haven builds on Suncorp’s long-standing focus on resilience, which includes the One House initiative developed in collaboration with James Cook University’s Cyclone Testing Station, CSIRO, and Room11 Architects—aimed at designing a home capable of withstanding natural disasters.
Powered by live APIs and incorporating data from partners such as Google, CoreLogic and Willy Weather, Haven is free and available nationwide at haven.suncorp.com.au.
