While we’re finding a way to put ads on everything….There must be some way we can get advertising onto animals. You know, get them to pull there weight a bit. Maybe little jumpers with ads for meaty bites on them. Help mum and dad pay for their food and lodging.
My first thought said ‘naff’.
My second thought said it could have some use at sports stadia – from wide shots – to connect with the punters watching at home.
My third thought said, we’ve been putting shit on stairs for about 15 years.
We’ll call them “Petverts” hmmm sounds like a cross between Pervert and Pets.
Maybe “Advertispets” “Petvertisments” “Petograms”.
City Pigeons could have little stencils of headphones spray painted on them followed by a ministry of sound logo. You know, cause there head moves back and forward, like they’re grooving.
Ah Cynic, been done plenty of times. Spray painted cows urging people to concentrate on the road, ads on eggs, logo’s on butterflies…
Get a few annuals, might make you less cynical 🙂
Cheerio chap.
Is it just me, or is anyone else a bit over the fact that every square centimetre of our environment is available for advertisers?
I’ve seen stairs done well, as a one-off. Which is fine. Because one-offs tend to have an idea behind them, so some kind of reward for the public. But all this will do is encourage shit ads on yet another piece of our city.
Oh well. At least they haven’t invented a way to project logos onto the moon. Yet.
I know the perfect client for this; hospitals. When the client tries to pay attention and read the ad they’ll foget their on stairs and fall, or bump into other people and make them fall. It’s perfect!
On getting animals to pull their weight, small birds, sparrows and the like, could haul gossamer banners on threads around the city. Pigeons too, although I can see issues in Aotea square in the form a gigantic flapping tangle of feathers and threads. Enter ad space opportunity two, unfed hounds wearing little plastic bibs adorned with Hell Pizza logos. Yeah.
Those are really cool signs! I would love one of those for my business. Thanks for the great information!
