SpotXchange launches industry’s most transparent video advertising platform
SpotXchange, Inc., has today announced the launch of the SpotXchange platform, which enables online publishers to connect with video advertising buyers, manage inventory and maximise revenue from a central hub, in real-time.
The new platform simplifies the process for monetising online video inventory by offering publishers the industry’s highest level of transparency and control for programmatic video advertising.
The SpotXchange platform connects online publishers with more than 500 brands – represented by ad networks, demand side platforms (DSPs) and agency trading desks (ATDs) – and creates a single place where buyers bid for video inventory in real-time. Publishers can also sell inventory directly to buyers in a private exchange, which safeguards their inventory from channel conflict and CPM degradation.
According to Matt Von der Muhll, country director of SpotXchange Australia, the platform will empower online publishers with capabilities that advertisers have had for nearly two years in Asia Pacific.
Says Von der Muhll: “SpotXchange is the only player in the video market to offer publishers this level of transparency on our platform from data on the types of video inventory being sold, which brands are bidding on their inventory and the optimal price. This information will help publishers make more informed decisions whether its raising or lowering their price floors and securing the best price for their inventory.”
The SpotXchange platform supports video advertising on any device. It recognises different mobile devices and adjusts advertisements accordingly to create a seamless experience for the viewer.
A leading US digital video and advertising solutions company, News Distribution Network (NDN), is already using the SpotXchange platform to drive greater efficiencies through programmatic while maximising yield for their video ad inventory.
Says Greg Peters, CEO of NDN: “NDN has been eager to tap into the programmatic opportunity and SpotXchange has made it easy for us to navigate the growing automated world. We’ve been impressed with SpotXchange’s ability to match our national reach and love that we can use their self-service platform or call on their trusted team of video experts. We look forward to working closely with their team to achieve maximum revenue for our impressions.”
The SpotXchange platform includes the following benefits:
• Programmatic infrastructure and ad serving – With the exception of Japan, today, overall RTB market sizes are modest, but the Asia Pacific region is expected to reach $5.2bn in spend by 2015, according to Brandscreen. SpotXchange allows publishers to tap into this emerging trend by providing real-time access to an open exchange or private deals, with more than 100 ad networks, demand side platforms and trading desks.
• Holistic yield management – Publishers can generate more demand for their inventory by managing all its relationships with video demand sources – including direct sold, network and programmatic direct in public or private marketplaces – from a central hub. Publishers can also use the platform to eliminate any latency issues, which cause lost revenue.
• Transparency and actionable insights -Publishers can use advertiser or category blocking, and will gain actionable advertiser-level visibility that greatly enhances optimisation capabilities and direct deals with buyers. With the SpotXchange platform, publishers are able to segment and report on video inventory by geography, player size, site and initiation type, and can set flexible, detailed pricing rules to maximise yield, prevent channel conflict and protect rate card pricing.
• Deal Management – Publishers’ direct sales teams can trade programmatically with top buyers and advertisers through direct deals, giving them access to video inventory that would otherwise be unavailable programmatically. SpotXchange supports Deal ID, allowing publishers to prioritise, optimise, and control pricing – all programmatically with pre-negotiated deals.
