wild-boys-2.jpgBoutique Sydney music and sound production house Sonar is proud to be associated with the TV series “Wild Boys”, which premiered Sunday night on Channel 7.

This is the first time the company has combined composition of a lavish and richly nuanced score with complete sound post for a drama series. While sound design & composition are integrally linked in TVC production this puts Sonar in a unique position when delivering long form work.

Seeing the results a united sound & music vision has achieved for the advertising industry Sonar has taken this integrated approach and applied it to the TV series.

This is no small feat as Wild Boys is a gold rush era drama combining a completely organic score with elaborate sound design and foley. The sound team is led by the award winning sound designer/music producer Wes Chew and the series is mixed by the highly respected & award winning engineer Luke Mynott.

The score has been written by Michael Lira and David McCormack, both multi-instrumentalists, who have been able to create a richly textured dramatic score.

Says Sonar composer & director Antony Partos: “Wild Boys has come at a very exciting time for Sonar as we are involved with a number of highly creative ventures across a variety of media. Apart from an array of recent TVC’s, our other projects include the upcoming feature film, “The Hunter”, starring William Dafoe, “33 Postcards”, the first Australian/Chinese co-production feature starring Guy Pearce, the ABC drama, “Crownies” and the highly anticipated drama series “The Slap” starring Jonathan Lapaglia, Melissa George & Alex Dimitriades. We are very lucky to be able to work across so many platforms and also to be able to operate globally with partners in LA, Tokyo and Berlin”

Wild Boys screens Sunday nights at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
