Skoda has ‘value written all over it’ in new hand drawn TV commercial via The Works, Sydney
On the back of the successful launch of the Skoda Superb (voted Australia’s best large car under $60,000) Skoda, via agency The Works, Sydney, has unveiled the creative campaign for the new Skoda Octavia 90TSI.
The ‘Value written all over it’ campaign features a tvc of the car being crafted from words.
For Kevin Macmillan, creative partner at The Works, building on Skoda’s already ‘clever’ reputation was a key driver: “We wanted to build on Skoda’s reputation for brilliant craftsmanship and clever technology. More importantly we wanted to create a through the line campaign which stood out – so much car advertising is generic and forgettable. We agreed with the client that a car that stands out deserves advertising that stands out.
“The Skoda client is brave and as with all our clients, our creatives work side by side with them to get the best result.”

Just saw this ad. FUCK ME!!!!! This is Skoda, a brand that has produced
‘A’ class creative OS – – – but as soon as it gets in the hands of Australian marketers it goes to absolute shit.
It’s just a lazy pun with a literal execution. All you’ve done is created a forum for the client to write all the things in the brief, all the selling points they need to push – I’m sure the client thinks this ad is genius.
And then the car shot….we can get that in no prob, we’ll just wipe off the words as if we’re erasing and introduce the car ………Genius!!!
