Scott Thompson takes Webster’s role at Toyota
CB believes that early next week Scott Thompson, who is currently Toyota’s corporate manager nationaladvertising, will be named as Peter Webster’s successor at Toyota Australia, steppingup to become divisional manager national marketing.
Thompson was second-in command to Webster (pictured) who resigned last month. Adrian Weimers, currently the corporate manager marketing at Toyota Australia, is expectedto be named as his second-in-command.
Webster’s resignation coincided with the shake-up caused by Dentsu, Toyota’s agency in Japan and most other markets around the world, announcing that it would be setting up shop in Australia in 2011. Its foundation client is Toyota Yaris, which was briefly withDroga5 Sydney.
Also on the Toyota roster locally are Saatchi & Saatchi Australia,Publicis Mojo and Oddfellows.

Who cares? This is more a story for Adnews than Campaign Brief isn’t it??
Not necessarily, 3:29, not necessarily…
That’s right moron, marketing directors have nothing to do with the quality of creative work we end up making??? It’s that kind of head in sand naivity that accounts for creatives being dismissed by business as adwankers.
Scott is a good guy – and respects his agency’s contribution
Webster on the other hand…
That’s going to be a huge adjustment for Scott from his current easy role of playing good cop to the bad cop Webster. Now he’s actually going to have to be honest to agency folk.
