Eardrum, Sydney and SapientNitro Brisbane score craft Gold Lion for Earphone Bully at Cannes Radio Lions
Eardrum, Sydney and SapientNitro, Brisbane scored one of only nine Gold Lions at the Cannes Radio Lions, awarded tonight at the Palais de Festivals.
The sound company and the ad agency won a craft Gold for the Earphone Bully spot.
Eardrum creative founder Ralph van Dijk (below right) and SapientNitro ACD Ralphie Barnett (below left) were at the ceremony tonight to accept the Lion.
Pictured on the Croisette tonight celebrating the win is former SapientNitro joint ECD Nancy Hartley (now at Clems Brisbane), Cristian Staal (now joint ACD at SapientNitro) and senior copywriter Marianne Harvey.
Leo Burnett Sydney won a Bronze Lion for the Bundaberg Red campaign.
A world total of only 55 Lions were awarded on the night.
In the Design Lions, Elmwood Melbourne won Australia’s one Lion, a Silver for Vicurban ‘Wearhouse Identity’.

Is earphone bully a radio ad?
I thought it was an audiofile imbedded in a website… an online resource. It’s cool and all, and presumably the judges considered the eligibility criteria, but based on what’s written here, how is it ‘radio’? Seems more ‘digital’
