Samsung and Dr Denim launch limited edition jeans for the Galaxy Z Flip3 via CHE Proximity
Samsung Australia, in collaboration with one of Australia’s most beloved jeans brands, Dr Denim, has today announced the release of the ‘Z Flip Pocket Denim’, a limited edition run of jeans celebrating the unique folding form factor of the Galaxy Z Flip3 via CHE Proximity.
The Limited Edition run of Z Flip Pocket Denim will feature only 450 pairs, designed by denim specialists Dr Denim, who are known for disrupting this classic wardrobe staple. The Z Flip Pocket Denim jeans retail for $1,499, with the Galaxy Z Flip3 included.
Samsung has partnered with Dr Denim to do away with bulky, unfashionable pockets, debuting jeans designed to snugly fit the new Galaxy Z Flip3, a device which folds to approximately half the size of a standard flat phone. Gone are the days of large, rectangular pockets that you can’t help but fill to the brim, Samsung and Dr Denim are declaring small, square pockets that better frame the legs the next big trend.
The perfect partner to a stylish, folding phone is a pair of equally stylish jeans that fit it perfectly, ensuring fashion lovers can have both style and practicality with a phone that perfectly fits into jeans without sticking out.
Redesigned so that they exclusively fit the Galaxy Z Flip3, the Z Flip Pocket Denim jeans make big pockets a thing of the past. The campaign launch is supported across film, digital, social and OOH.
Says Hayley Walton, head of brand marketing, Samsung Mobile: “Smartphones are often not pocket friendly, so we’ve leveraged Dr Denim’s style credentials to design jeans that shake up the pocket norm and perfectly fit our compact Galaxy Z Flip3. Our Galaxy Z Flip3 users expect the very best in design and pocketability, and what better to accompany our premium phones than the perfect pair of bespoke jeans.”
Says Mattias Friberg from Dr Denim: “We wanted to take a classic jean and rework it to create a modern and unique take on these signature jeans to show off the Galaxy Z Flip3. We feel the new Z Flip Pocket Denim is a welcome, if not limited, addition to the Dr Denim family and we’re thrilled to partner with Samsung to bring these garments to life.”
Says Fee Millist and Cass Jam, creative directors at CHEP: “These jeans give Galaxy Z Flip3 users a chance to flaunt their allegiance.”
Available in both men’s and women’s styles, Z Flip Pocket Denim can be purchased through Dr Denim’s website where the customer can choose the colour of their accompanying, Galaxy Z Flip3.

The jeans that nobody asked for paired with the phone that nobody wants.
Looks like a tinkerbell idea
Where the credit? Remote freelancer
This is like one of those ideas below the “random thoughts” divider in Slides no one takes seriously.
What did I just watch?
…everyone would love it.
It’s a different shape of idea. It’s nice. I don’t mind it.
The danger in that category is to end up in with what appears to be a poor iPhone ad.
imagine wearing those…
I don’t understand why this is a thing. My phone iPhone 12 pro max fits in my regular sized jean pocket.
huh? Jeans look terrible. Take out. Bad taste. Samsung.
I’m glad I have long arms to reach that pocket.. but I am known as long arms
But they still have regular big pockets.
You’re not saying bye bye to them at all.
Flip.
Samsung branded jeans? I’d prefer a lanyard.
There are regular pockets above the ‘trendy half-sized pockets’…
Perfect for an iphone or a brochure on what not to wear.
Isn’t the whole thing that standard pockets can be too small for phones?
So wouldn’t this phone, that flips to half its size, be the perfect solution to a standard pocket… rather than putting a smaller pocket… on something that already has pockets that are societally considered too small?

Recon one of those phones would fit into a pack of ciggies? How good would that be – phone, lighter, opal card, few cancer sticks…
I just put my Nokia 3310 in the pocket of my cargo shorts. Righteo, i’m off to spend my kids inheritance and destroy the housing market. Toodle ooo.
Give it a year, then Thinkerbell will remake it.
No one cares how short the phone is, what maters is how thin the phone is. You’ve actually highlighted one of the main reasons people don’t want a flip phone.
No ECD or CCO putting their name on it. Telling.
