Sam I Am signs photographer Ted Min
Full service production house Sam I Am has announced the arrival of fashion and advertising photographer Ted Min.
Based in Melbourne, Min is a South Korean born photographer whose playful use of spontaneity and humour brings individual characters to life with work that explores a keen engagement with colour and the joy to be found in everyday moments.
The award winning photographer has shot for fashion brands including Mainbooth and Romance Was Born and has exhibited work in both Australia and South Korea. Most recently, his photo-series have featured in publications 10 Magazine Australia and Kingkong Magazine.
Says Min: “I’m inspired by artists who bring a great level of irony and humour to their work, such as Thomas Mailaender, Juergen Teller and Ray Cook.
“I feel my strongest styles come from finding unreal moments and turning them into something relatable. I enjoy reducing the distance between everyday life and the joy it brings for brands that often portray exclusivity; whether that be through the use of high-art, high-fashion, painting references or religion.
“I’m very excited to be a part of Sam I Am. I love the team’s energy and enthusiasm – you are all very kind and nice. We’ll make great work together!”
Says Samantha Simpson, founder, Sam I Am: “Ted is a breath of fresh air in fashion and advertising photography. I love to see authentic play come to life in each and every one of his pictures. There is a depth to the work that draws you in and tickles your spirit. He’s smart, well researched and inspiring. I instantly wanted to be a part of his gang.”
