Sam I Am Director Aimée-Lee X. Curran’s 5am Wins Best Narrative at Clipped Music Video Festival
Sam I Am director Aimée-Lee X. Curran’s ‘5am’ has won Best Narrative at the Clipped Music Video Festival, Australia’s longest running festival dedicated to the art of music video production.
Says Curran: “We approached this music video like a short film. It was a huge undertaking to fit all of the character and story beats into a three-minute song, so I really couldn’t be more thrilled with winning Best Narrative.”

Also this week, Curran teamed up with inner-West brewery Young Henrys to release her third music video for Caitlin Harnett & the Pony Boys, a hilariously absurd Christmas-themed horror story for the song ‘All My Friends Are Dancers’. The clip premiered at Randwick Ritz Cinema as part of the Clipped Music Video Festival. Watch it here
On the commercial front, Curran’s summer campaign for CommBank and the Australian Women’s Cricket Team, ‘C’mon Aussie: Revisited’ has also been awarded B&T’s Women in Media Award for Best Ad Campaign – Championing the Equality Cause.
Says Samantha Simpson, founder, Sam I Am: “We are super proud of Aimée-Lee’s recent wins. Her natural flair for directing actors in comedy and unique approach to storytelling is definitely highlighted in ‘5am’ and is a talent she also carries over when embarking on commercial campaign work.”
