Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand creates toolkit to help kiwi referendum voters navigate complexity
Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand has created an online interactive toolkit for the Electoral Commission to help voters understand the complex range of electoral system options to vote on in this year’s Referendum.
Animations, videos, quizzes and interactive tools allow voters to profile and compare each electoral system, and assess them according to their personal values and preferences.
Says Chief Electoral Officer, Robert Peden: “With several unfamiliar options on offer, the toolkit delivers information to voters in an uncomplicated, unbiased and accessible way which we think will give them the confidence to make an informed choice in the Referendum.
“Some people want a quick and easy way through the information, while others want to delve into the detail. The toolkit suits a range of different information needs, engagement and learning styles,” he says.
“The Saatchi & Saatchi team has delivered a fun, fresh information platform that delivers complex information in a digestible and meaningful way. I’m very pleased with the result.”
“To create the best solution, we started by putting the voter’s interests first and worked backwards from there. The design and interactive features provide a personal touch to help people gain a much deeper understanding of which option suits them,” said Livia Esterhazy, general manager, Saatchi & Saatchi Wellington.
The Referendum toolkit is available through the Referendum website and the Referendum YouTube channel and will also be promoted through online advertising.
