Rob Morrison takes CD gig at OgilvyOne Sydney – business directors Sally Kissane and Michelle Holland promoted to managing partner roles
OgilvyOne, Sydney has appointed Rob Morrison creative director, two months after he departed from his role as creative director direct marketing of sister STW Group agency Shift, Sydney.
Morrison (second from left) was at Shift for only five months, leaving in January to go freelance. Prior to Shift, Morrison was at BWM where he led the DM team on Telstra Business and ING Direct.
Morrison fills the vacuum left after the departure last year of Dana Holder, who is now freelance at M&C Saatchi/Mark, Sydney.
Morrison’s apppointment is part of a restructure of OgilvyOne’s management team, which sees current OgilvyOne business directors, Sally Kissane and Michelle Holland, take on the newly created role of managing partners while Jason Hill (above left) will continue to lead the agency’s strategic direction as head of strategy.
“As a management team there are few challenges that this team hasn’t seen,” says Tom Moult, chairman, Ogilvy Australia. “They have deep experience in virtually every industry and dedicated capabilities in both B2B and B2C. The size and scale of our OgilvyOne offering means we can invest in deep capabilities versus generalists.”
The appointment of Kissane (above left) and Holland (above right) to the role of managing partners followed a global search for suitable candidates.
“Hiring Sally and Michelle proves you should never underestimate the talent on your own doorstep,” says Moult. “Their outstanding combined leadership credentials and their genuine passion for their clients’ business will drive the future of OgilvyOne,” he added.
“We are excited by this great opportunity. We have a talented team of 80+ Direct and digital professionals with an excellent blend of industry experience and youthful energy. We look forward to working with the team to accelerate the growth of one of Australia’s leading Direct agencies” says Holland.
“The core of our business strategy is to strengthen our ties with the OgilvyOne global network and leverage the significant IP and capabilities from our offices around the world,” says Kissane. “Our partnerships with DTDigital, Neo@Ogilvy and Social@Ogilvy provide our clients with the full suite of capabilities necessary for next generation CRM.”
The arrival of Morrison as creative director significantly boosts OgilvyOne’s creative firepower and helps bring its CRM and creative capabilities closer. Morrison’s 20 years of creative expertise underpins his mantra “brilliant creative can’t exist in a vacuum – it has to be built off inspiring strategy.”
Morrison has been responsible for some of Australia’s most effective response-driving DM campaigns including the recent Silver Effie winning Erncorp Mobile Plus program for Telstra Business and multiple ADMA-winning campaigns for ING DIRECT. Recognised as one of Australia’s leading DM creative directors, Morrison has won more than 40 local and international direct marketing gongs.
“Rob’s history of putting creative departments back in the spotlight and his track record of effectiveness driven creative is second to none and we are thrilled to have him on the team, says Holland. “His absolute focus on ROI for clients is a perfect fit with our culture of delivering deep insight, creative innovation and best practice for our clients.”

bluh fucking blah………….who are you guys kidding?
Whenever I see or hear of Ogilvy, i feel sick.
Well done Rob. Don’t be dissuaded. The Tav is the best pub.
Nice one Rob. Punt high and follow through!
Nice one Mr Morrison.
Congratulations ladies. Watch this space.
@PLEASEGOAWAY. You are clearly a bitter old hack. Spare us your irrelevant, bile-ridden gibbering.
Ah, poor you, it must be terrible to be so sad, lonely & bitter and on the outside looking in. Why would you be so unhappy about some amazingly talented people getting new roles at an agency that has had its highs and lows but is on the up??
nevermind, i’m sure you’ll get a real job one day, being a Refuse Technician has clearly clouded your view of life. Congratulations to Sally, Michelle, Jason and Rob – awesome news!
well done Rob, look forward to seeing good things…
Old people doing things the old way. Brilliant. Keeps emerging markets free for people who are prepared to embrace new methodologies for the new world. Good luck dinosaurs, your comet is coming.
@ Happy Ogilvy employee. (OGILVY DISCIPLE)
You’re clearly loyal to Ogilvy – which in itself is a scary thing.
But you’re so blinded by your bullshit corporate allegiance that you didn’t even read the comment properly.
I said ‘Ogilvy’ makes me sick, and by that i mean, the brand and what they represent. I never mentioned the people. I’m sure Rob will do a good job.
And………………….I left Ogilvy and now have a real job -thank Christ!
Simon – new is not always ‘best’ and ‘old people’ have generally had much more experience to apply and also tend to be rather talented in ignoring blithering drivel. so I say to you “RAAAAAAHHHHH! GO the dinosaurs!”
more cardboard from ogilvy coming our way.
Yup – as we thought – a bitter ex-employee. And for the record, strange but true – I can read – if there’s a puerile attack on ‘Ogilvy – the brand’ its an attack on those who work there. Lucky us that we got rid of you. p.s in case you’re a moron – puerile means childishly silly and immature.
We’ll see, Happy Ogilvy employee, we’ll see.
Jason, you’re still alive?
@PLEASE GO AWAY, what exactly does “the brand and what they represent” actually mean? can you identify what it is that you associate with your negative feelings?
Hey SIMON, you’re blazing the trail into new markets with new methodologies are you? what have you done lately?
I didn’t mean to upset the Ogilvy loyalists.
Ok, I’ll remain silent and wait for the world-class work.
Well done Michelle and Rob
I reckon good on ’em
But geez it’s a tangled enterprise
OgilvyOne.. part of Ogilvy & Mather, which is part of STW, partnering with DTDigital (new in Syd, was Melb), partnering with Neo@Ogilvy, partnering with Social@Ogilvy (new, was Ogilvy PR)
If they work out how to sell that agency arrangement they’ll win plenty
507 word PR piece
That’s Ogilvy for you. You don’t need to say so much if you’re any good – we all know that.
I’m sure ‘Happy Ogilvy employee’ has read the entire piece – twice
Nice one Rob…very happy for you.
The Other Simon.
Congrats, Rob! Good luck with it!
1000 nice ones Rob. Wicked news. Congrats. Nice one.
Good onya Rob – a win for you, and one for the Canucks in the same day!
