Reckon launches new pocket accountant TV campaign via Positive Ape + Hooligan Collective

Hooligan Collective and Positive Ape have teamed up to create a new TVC campaign for accounting software and app Reckon. The campaign shows moments when their small business customers discover a literal accountant in their pocket.

In the first spot ‘Landscaper’, a rather hirsute landscape gardener takes off his shirt, only to discover a pint sized accountant in the pocket. The accountant suggests a multitude of ways he could help with his business, before suggesting the best thing for business may be for the gardener to do some “manscaping”.

In the second spot ‘Laundromat’, a café owner discovers not only that she has an accountant in the pocket of her freshly laundered uniform, but also that she left some tissues in the pocket during the wash cycle.

Says Brad Stevens of Reckon: “Reckon is the most user friendly and convenient accounting and payroll software around, you can use on the go from your phone, laptop or tablet. When the team presented the idea that Reckon is ‘just like having an accountant in your pocket’, we knew it was the one.”

Says Dylan Harrison of Hooligan Collective: “When a challenger client like Reckon backs interesting, entertaining and memorable creative ideas like the pocket accountant, they soon grow beyond their current level of awareness.”

Says Jason Byrne of Positive Ape: “It was an absolute joy to make the campaign, with Dylan combining deadpan performances and great casting, for a fabulous result. When you earn the trust of a great client like Reckon, this is the kind of creative freedom we love.”

The Landscape Gardener and Laundromat spots will launch on 20th April as 30 second lengths on BVOD and 3x 15 second and 3 x 6 second versions will run BVOD, online and paid social media.
