QLD Youngbloods announces new co-chair partnership

QLD Youngbloods has appointed Emily Macgroarty (left), account manager at BCM Group’s IVY PR as new co-chair. Macgroarty joins existing co-chair, Elle Whittaker (right), art director at Ogilvy who will continue in her position, now working together as a creative duo both with big ambitions for the Queensland branch of Ad Council’s youth arm.

On the team’s goal to bring more awareness to Youngbloods in QLD Whittaker says: “Our team work really hard to create high quality, unique industry events that provide incredible opportunities for young professionals. With such a diverse market of young professionals across Brisbane, our biggest focus is in bringing people together across the creative industries.

“We’re focusing on expanding partnerships and collaborations to not only cross promote Youngbloods but provide our audience with a broader and deeper knowledge of industry from a wider range of experts.”

Over the past year, the QLD Youngbloods team has developed a stronger understanding of their audience and built on their internal values and persona, creating multiple events and initiatives that contribute to these and appeal to their audience.

When speaking of their upcoming projects Macgroarty says: “Being members of our own audience definitely makes our insights stronger which helps us in  developing projects to help our peers grow. We’re really excited to be introducing BBAWD – that’s Bring Back After Work Drinks – as an ongoing initiative to re-invigorate culture within the industry in a more relaxed environment than your stock standard networking setup.

“Of course mentors are important, but finding peers who you can grow with can make a huge difference to the sustainability of your career. After all, we are the mates who help you make it!”
