Qantas choirs sing ‘I still call Australia home’ in newly launched online film via The Monkeys
Qantas has worked with The Australian Girls Choir and The Gondwana National Choir to create a new online video via The Monkeys.
The children in the video, who sing the iconic ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ song, are located all over Australia from Toowoomba (QLD) and Wollongong (NSW) to Albany (WA) and Adelaide (SA). The children aged 8 to 18 filmed themselves on phones in their own homes with the help of their siblings and parents.
Qantas engaged The Monkeys to compile the footage and develop the final version.
The composer and musical director is Elliott Wheeler, founder of Turning Studios who has been working with Qantas on creating their Centenary campaign launch.
Says Stephanie Tully, chief customer officer, Qantas: “If isolation and travel restrictions have shown Australians anything, it’s how much they value seeing the people and places they love.
“As domestic and trans-Tasman travel restrictions begin to ease, we hope this short video inspires people to start thinking about their next trip, particularly to destinations that are a little closer to home.”

That just made me bawl my eyes out. Feeling for everyone at Qantas (and Virgin) right now.
Enough,enough ,enough!!!!
Aw, shame. About 3 weeks too late.
This would have warmed my cockles if Qantas hadn’t so aggressively tried to take Virgin down.

boring
Classic Monkeys cheese
Got to agree the state broadcaster did it first with more creativity and probably on a quarter the budget.
I wonder how many of these ads Joycies pay cut could fund. Qantas, worlds biggest tight asses. I have worked on numerous productions and been bent over by this airline. wish we could bend them over now.
Yeah it is a little Gorgonzola but sometimes a good bloody cheese just makes you feel so good.
Thanks for giving me all the right feels Monkeys.
After laying off more than 20,000 staff, Qantas have money for this cheese and yes ABC did it heaps better.
I loved this so much.
I’m a proud Aussie. And it made me cry.
Should be our anthem. I’m the first to
Say that this “we are in this together bullshit” is just that…..But I loved this! My country. My airline.
Well done monkeys. And Qantas. I can’t wait to fly with you again xoxo
Please creatives, start saying NO to briefs with zoom and piano!
Made me cry. Well done. And to all the whiners complaining about using zoom (or piano), think about the jobs being saved by clients wanting or needing to get work out there. We should be celebrating every piece of work keeping our industry alive right now.
Monkeys see.Monkeys do…shit.
ABC did it wayyyy wayyyyyy better.
They should offer cash rewards for anyone able to sit through the whole thing. I feel sorry for the editor on this
God what sad, cynical grumps you are. Loved the cheese..made me tear up. Think everyday Aussies would too.
I’m an Aussie, living in the US right now – I can tell you one thing, after the debacle that’s currently occurring over here – this film (as cheesy as you feel it might be) made me super proud to be an Australian.
If you didn’t get a tear or find this at all emotional, you have no heart.
I loved every minute of this video and it made me soooo proud to be an Australian,,,,and I ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Qantas,,,,,,,very well done kids,,,,you make us proud of who we are in these very challenging times🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
