ONE NZ launches new ‘Mobile made for you’ campaign via DDB Group Aotearoa
One NZ and DDB Group Aotearoa have joined forces on a new mobile campaign, Mobile made for you.
The new campaign bucks the trend of showing the world in a hyper curated, rose-tinted way. Instead, One NZ is celebrating real; squinting at the incoming call, the mad scramble of early mornings, the forgotten presentation, ignoring the unknowing number, scrolling and how our phones fit with everyday life.
Says Katherine Kazalbash, head of marketing at One NZ: “The campaign reinforces why One NZ should be New Zealanders first choice for mobile.
“Our mobile products are designed around you and your life, whatever that is and however you live it. Big moments like starting a business or having children, helpful ones like meeting reminders and even the annoying ones like dropping your phone. One NZ gets that whilst our individual needs are personal, there are definitely moments that connect us all.”
Says Rory McKechnie, executive creative director at DDB Group Aotearoa: “Our phones know us incredibly intimately, they see a side of us that no one else does. So, we’ve shown people’s lives from the phone’s point of view, capturing our protagonists at their most real and unfiltered.
“Even though it’s a product spot and mobile devices are central to the overarching idea, we deliberately chose not to show the devices, instead we’ve let the view of everyday Kiwi lives tell the story.”
The platform launched on 3 September and appears across TV, outdoor, digital and social.

A camera trick is not an idea…
Those pictures make me nauseous.
Seen some sh*t. I’m sorry little phone.
Is really slick. Super fresh.
Looks really fresh and unlike anything in this market. Biggest applause to Jason.
I like it. Simple truth that phones are always with us. Shots superbly and not forced.
One small thing – 00:49 The numbers on the camera are the the right way, which is wrong as they should be flipped like everything else.
Gives me ‘your telco/government/hacker is watching you’ vibes.
Just shot differently. There’s no idea.
