Could it be that they have 10x our population, and probably 500x our struggling actor numbers? Not to mention the budgets to get the good stuff?
There is talent in Oz. We could do a better job of finding it. What the talent looks like is often rated as being more important than what the talent is good at (i.e. have they ever done comedy before – if not, then don’t expect them to make a script funny).
This is ad casting from an actor’s perspective. http://bit.ly/f32Asp
the money for actors in commercials australia is terrible. not enough people in the industry understand that if you skimp on $ for talent then it really doesn’t matter where else the money is being spent.
bad acting can sink an idea. great acting makes it soar.
and yes we do have a large number of skilled actors that would be great in commercials. how easily can you get them when you’re offering 4k for a 12month buy out?
I agree with 11.10 and 11.43 and 11.48. So far. And i think it’s a good ad.
winge winge winge
good ad
stop being sorry you didn’t make it
Lost some of its impact, although more entertaining then anything else I’ve seen this week.
Awesome… Old Spice is back!
It’s not about the acting, dumbarses, it’s a good script.
1:55 & 5:16 we were actually just having a conversation about other things that applied to our industry that was sparked by this ad from overseas. douches.
Sterling Archer would be proud.
