Ogilvy Australia recognised at Australian Business Awards as an EMPLOYER OF CHOICE
Ogilvy Australia has been recognised as an Employer of Choice (EOC) in The Australian Business Awards 2019 for the second consecutive year.
Now in their fourteenth year, The Australian Business Awards are an annual all-encompassing awards program which recognises organisations that demonstrate the core values of business innovation, product innovation, technological achievement and employee engagement via a set of comprehensive award categories.
The EOC accolade recognises organisations which have developed workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through practices that demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.
David Fox, CEO Ogilvy Australia says the award provides recognition of Ogilvy’s practices across culture; leadership; training and development; and many other managerial practices and it was an honour for the agency to be recognised alongside other Australian businesses.
Says Fox: “At Ogilvy we truly believe our people are our most valuable asset and we make sure their wellbeing is at the core of everything we do and say. By looking after our people and creating a collaborative, caring and dynamic workplace is a fail-safe way of getting the best work from your team and in turn our clients reap the benefits.
“Winning an EOC award for the 2nd year running and again being able to participate in the International EOC Chapter, is an honour and is testament that Ogilvy Australia remains committed to putting its people first in everything we do.”
Says Tara Johnston, program director, Australian Business Awards: “The Australian Business Awards exist to recognise organisations within Australia that are committed to their employees and their customers. Fifty-two organisations have been selected in this year’s Employer of Choice Awards. These organisations have demonstrated innovative leadership and management practices that engage and support their workforce.
“The awards resonate with our mission of highlighting organisations within Australia that foster a culture of innovation, promoting teamwork and problem-solving.
“Fostering a culture of innovation is essential for every organisation. Organisations that are innovation-focused experience improved business efficiency, staff performance and retention.”
The Australian Business Awards program provides notable opportunities for high-performing organisations to be acknowledged and honoured for their achievements both nationally and internationally.
The Employer of Choice Award recipients will participate in the international chapter of the program at the World Business Awards whereby participants are provided with the unique opportunity to benchmark themselves against the top performers globally.
The Employer of Choice Framework (EOC Framework) is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards through a global recognition and knowledge building initiative that is underpinned by the program’s established framework.
The key attributes of the EOC Framework define the characteristics of well-managed, high-performing, industry-leading organisations that provide a stimulating and supportive workplace.
Entrant organisations are required to demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of organisational culture; leadership and strategy; employee education, training & development; employee health, safety & satisfaction; performance management; recognition & remuneration.
Organisational participation includes private companies, publicly listed companies, multi-national subsidiaries, non-government organisations, educational institutions, franchise systems, partnerships, government departments, government agencies, local government and statutory bodies operating in Australia.

Is it April Fools Day?
Have some HOT leaders.
Congrats Ogilvy on winning an award of some kind this year. Your staff must be thrilled
You mean except winning a lion in Cannes Lions and 20+ finalists in Ad Stars?
What Lion?
Then why have I interviewed every single creative team from the Melbourne office this year?
“The EOC accolade recognises organisations which have developed workplaces that maximise the full potential of their workforce through practices that demonstrate effective employee recruitment, engagement and retention.”
Recruitment. Maybe. Engagement and retention? Really???
Hi Thinker.
Every single creative team? Mmm. I call bullshit on that. Maybe some who have come to see you are just using you to gauge their market value. If any of them ACTUALLY decide to join you, you know where to find me for a reference. Best of lucks. DPL.
I work at Ogilvy and I remember earlier this year they did a survey among the staff regarding “employee’s satisfaction”. The results came back so bad they had to throw Pokémon party a to divert the attention instead of addressing the issue 😂
I’m pretty sure they’re still the least awarded Ogilvy office globally…
this isn’t an award that’s based on staff and client satisfaction
From what I’ve heard the safest way to keep your job at Ogilvy is to not win an award so I would be pretty worried if was on the payroll
The comments on here are a disgrace. Well done Ogilvy – you’re business has clearly turned around and people can’t handle it. The dross of the industry whom I sure were fired from Ogilvy would hate that the business is doing so well without them. Very funny – success is the best revenge and these angry little nobodies are up in arms that the business is better without them. I have a mate up in Ogilvy sydney and she raves about the culture. Maybe we should say well done when an agency is doing well – not many are these days.
So Ogilvy should get revenge for firing people? Don’t really understand you mate
If you’ve got to promote things like this, you’ve lost all perspective. This isn’t awarded on how staff feel.
60 suits / 20 creatives is the magic combo then I guess!
@Employee – what is Ogilvy’s staff turnover rate? That is a fair indicator of workplace satisfaction. Insiders lets hear from you.
1 per month in/out more or less I would say
A significant amount of people on this site have been fired/made redundant by Ogilvy, not because they were bad, it was because this great employer had to hit their numbers. What do they expect from this, nice comments?
On top, if they were truly into their staff, they would have shown a picture of them in this article.
I did a freelance gig in the Melbourne office earlier this year. I’ve never been to more quite office. No one, and I mean no one, talk to each other. And when they do, they remove their headphones and whisper. That’s the recipe for success ladies and gentlemen- silence!
Bit of flow time aint a bad thing, better than some gronk pushin round a jolly trolly cranking out trippy red n doing donuts 24/7
ps, dont feed the trolls, it aint a good look
If only the people judging this walked through the office. I worked on BMw before it somehow got lost to another agency who already had a massive car company. If leaving at 5pm and not having to work weekends is what makes staff happy then this award is deserved. Personally k would have been happier in a culture full of energy and creative and that’s not what Ofilvy had
I have never worked anywhere that treats their people so badly. You’re just a number. It’s shameful. The most toxic culture I have ever experienced in this business.
