NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi unveils new ‘Don’t Let the Drugs Drive’ campaign via FCB NZ
FCB Aotearoa, MBM, and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) have launched a new campaign ‘Don’t Let the Drugs Drive’, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug-impaired driving.
With drugs present in nearly a third of all fatal crashes in New Zealand, the campaign seeks to challenge misconceptions and highlight the serious consequences beyond just law enforcement. It aims to spark reflection and accountability, encouraging all New Zealanders to consider their role in preventing harm on the roads.
The campaign film, directed by Tom Gould and produced by Sweetshop, uses cutting-edge cinematography to create an immersive experience. Featuring real first responders alongside actors, the film’s continuous 180-degree spinning movement draws viewers into the emotional weight of the issue, culminating in a powerful bird’s-eye view of the tragedy.
Launching on 23 February across multiple channels, this campaign marks the first step in a broader effort to shift perceptions, drive awareness, and ultimately change behaviours around drug driving.
