NZ industry in shock as director Adam Strange dies in shark attack off an Auckland beach
Many in the New Zealand advertising, TVC and Film production industries will be shocked and saddened to hear of the death of independent film and TVC director Adam Strange, who was killed in a shark attack off an Auckland beach today.

According to a report by stuff.co.nz Strange had been swimming alone from Maori Bay to Muriwai Beach, several hundred metres from shore, about 1.30pm today. A 4-metre shark, believed to be a great white, attacked Strange.
In 2009, Aphrodite’s Farm, a short film written by Strange andfreelance creative Pete Force and directed by Strange, won a Crystal Bear at the 59th Berlin International Film Festival. The film, produced by Anzak Tindell, premiered internationally in the Generation 14 plus youth section along with thirty other short films.

adam – i think of your awesome energy, your sparked up smile, following you on a long skateboard (when they first came out) from the top of Symonds st to Quay st…you were going so fast and running lights (i was shitting myself)….infact now as i think of your smiling face, each memory of you was either laughing or doing something challenging…..i definitely miss you….a great man! x
Adam Strange survived by his beloved wife Meg and their little girl Indigo, found these two articles about them here http://dailyentertainmentnews.com/movies/meg-strange-is-tv-director-adam-strange-killed-by-shark-photos/ and also here http://fandaily.info/celebrities/t-v-director-adam-strange-killed-by-shark-in-news-zealand-survived-by-his-wife-meg-and-daughter/
One of the all round best guys you will ever meet….ever. Adam had a youthful energy that was infectious. He loved life and sure as hell made you know it. He did everything full on from the way he drove his old gold land rover to the way he surfed….always go, go, go. I still vividly remember surfing with him at Shipwreck Bay a few years back. Adam would take off on waves, hooting at us on every drop (on a huge log of wood he called a board) before nearly running us over, tears steaming down his face with laughter. I will miss you brother, but take some small comfort that you were out in the ocean doing what you loved.
Damn thats sad. Go well Adam.
Very sad news – much love to the family and friends
Terrible galling news.
Question now is what we can do in australia to help his family in the future?
I am up to pitch in in whatever way.
