nudie photo THREEweb.jpgThis morning leading fruit juice brand nudie, via PR shop Magnum PR, created a huge SOS sign in the sand from one of Sydney’s famous nudist beaches, Obelisk Beach, sending the message to Australians in light of new research revealing more than half the nation is dehydrated (52%).

Visible from the air, nudie’s giant 40m long SOS spelled out the word ‘THIRSTY?’ in 750 green coconuts and coincided with the launch of their new product range, nudie coconut water, which hits shelves this week.

Labelled the new ‘super drink,’ hype for coconut water has already swept overseas markets thanks to a bunch of high profile celebrity fans such as Madonna and Demi Moore. And now the coconut craze is set to hit Australia with nudie being the first to launch a widely available, bottled version.

With brands in the US claiming that it has natural hydrating powers three times faster than sports drinks and numerous other health benefits, nudie feels coconut water could be just the solution for Aussies who aren’t drinking enough water.

According to the new study, 64% of us aren’t getting anywhere near the recommended eight glasses of water a day and 59% of people would drink more water or other hydrating fluids if it tasted better.
