Noted interior designers Darren Palmer and Stacey Kouros front Carpet Court’s new TV commericals via Bruni Dunn Advertising
Australian flooring retailer, Carpet Court is teaming up with high-profile interior designers, Darren Palmer and Stacey Kouros, to launch the company’s new direction and creative positioning via Bruni Dunn Advertising.
A suite of new TVCs featuring Palmer and Kouros will air from 19 August 2012 and will be supported by online advertising, Carpet Court’s new social media campaign and numerous local marketing initiatives.
Carpet Court’s national marketing manager, Natasha Gallardo, said the new direction is led by the insight that the first step in decoration and styling a room starts with the floor.
Says Gallardo: “The new creative is based on the idea that flooring is the fundamental component of designing a room, and is the place interior designers and homemakers begin when planning to decorate a space.”
Launching 20 August 2012, a social media competition will encourage interior design enthusiasts and experts across the country to share their own style and inspirations with Carpet Court. Running over six weeks, the competition gives entrants the chance to win a $10,000 room makeover, together with the styling services from Palmer or Kouros.
The competition is housed on Facebook, with further activity planned for Carpet Court’s new Twitter and Pinterest profiles where trends, tips and styling advice will be shared.
At selected Carpet Court stores, the company is rolling out new interactive design hubs where customers can utilise the latest in technology and design tools with access to expert advice.
Later in the year, Carpet Court will also be launching a digital tool which will allow customers to use 3D technology to simulate room design when choosing products.
PR Edge is overseeing the social media campaign.

BRING BACK THE CARPET COURT JESTER!!!
She spends the whole ad looking like she’s smelt something weird…
Such a weak premise. What content could you put in to pad out the rest of the campaign, assuming this ‘idea’ is expected to run for a few years? And branding? It’s totally generic to the floor coverings category. Yes, even the court jester was better than this. And no, he wasn’t played by Andrew North.
I saw this last night along with all the other rubbish.
It makes me hate my job.
Well I think the ad does wonders for carpet court. The jester ads were outdated and tacky. Stacey and Darren are some of the top designers in Australia – I think this is the best thing carpet court could have done to improve their brand image by enlisting these awesome designers to endorse their products. Great campaign!
A clear strategy nicely executed, well done Bruni Dunn I look forward to seeing the rest of the series.
A rich vein. This campaign could run for years and years…yes, as the designers age gracefully, the ads could run in sepia…then black & white…then fashion black as their funeral cortege drives slowly yet solemnly past a Carpet Court store….
I thought it was for freedom or something. If you dont really listen – i.e: imagine you are a normal person and see it in the middle of an ad break when you’re talking to your wife or taking a piss – and it could be mistaken for any number of homewares or furniture companies. Oh, and I dont think designers have used carpet for about a decade. They have floor boards or polished concrete, so why are they faking some interest in carpet? Oh, and the poor jester! The Jester had some of the best brand recall in advertising. First (in fact only) place i think of when I think about renovating.
seriously Huh? I think its great Carpet Court is in the smae space as Freedom its all about decoration and carpet is probably the first product in the series, Carpet Court do sell floor boards, rugs etc.
Again nice sttrategy and well executed.
