NMIT holds two open days in October and November for screen and media industry hopefuls

NMITlogo.pngAs part of theNMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) Super Thursday information series,NMIT’s Screen and Media program will be opening its studio doors to screen andmedia industry hopefuls during two information sessions before the end of theyear.

“If you haveever thought about a career in television broadcast or video production youshouldn’t miss our Super Thursday info sessions,” says NMIT Screen and Media Program Coordinator, Darren Steffen.

“These sessions represent two rare opportunities to check out a fully operational HD television production studio, talk to our current students and to talk to our trainers who have years of industry experience and know exactly what skills and experience employers are looking for in graduates. These sessions are a must for anyone contemplating a career in camera operation, lighting, sound, editing, directing or studio production management.”

The SuperThursday sessions will include a tour of the production facilities at NMIT’s Collingwoodcampus, provide details on course costs, content, showcase current student’s workand also offer advice on the interview process for entry into NMIT courses.

NMIT offersthe Certificate IV in Screen and Media and the Advanced Diploma of Screen andMedia as full-time study while the Diploma of Screen and Media is available viapart-time study and is taught in the evenings which make it ideal for people lookingto develop or enhance their existing skills in TV and video production.

 Productionpartnerships with industry such as a recent collaboration with McGuire Media toproduce the weekly racing program, Racing Review, give students the opportunityto gain real industry experience and graduate with genuine production creditson their CV. This partnership is expanding to more shows in the near future.
